August 29:  At Huckleberry Books …


大通りから外れて、しばらく行くと
２階建てで洒落た佇まいのハックルベリーブックスさんがある。

Straying from the street and walking a little way,
there was a 2-story and fancy book store, Huckleberry Books.

ドアを開けると落ち着いた雰囲気の中に
選りすぐられた絵本や詩集などが並べられている。

When I opened the door, I could find selected picture books and poetry books in a relaxed atmosphere.

２階にあがると自然光が入る居心地の良さそうな部屋で
動物たちの絵が迎えてくれた。

I went upstairs and animals in paintings welcomed me in a cozy room with natural light.

飾られた１００点の絵は
１枚１枚が飼い主さんの心に想いを届ける為に描かれている。

Each of displayed 100 paintings was drawn to deliver the thought to the pet owner’s heart.

絵の合間に展示されている飼い主さんからのお手紙を読んで、
動物たちの絵をみると胸にせまるものがある。

I was deeply touched when I read the letter from pet owners displayed between paintings and saw the painting of their pets.

会場を訪れた方のなかには、共感の声を漏らす人や涙ぐまれる人もいた。

There were visitors who voiced their sympathy and were moved to tears.

そして、みなさん何らかの感想を述べられて部屋を出て行かれる。

And all of visitors went out with certain sentiments.

上手い下手だけでは量れない想いが込められた絵が、
会場の雰囲気を何かとてもやさしいものにしていた。

The deeply-felt paintings which could not be measured by being well-done or not made the atmosphere of the site heartwarming.

閉廊間際の会場です。いろんな人が訪れ、それぞれの想いを語って帰って行かれました。
