５月２５日 台湾の総統、馬英九総統夫人が来場されました！

May 25:  Visit of First Lady Ms. Chow Mei-ching


とてもすごいことがありました。
午後３時ごろ、台湾総統、馬英九総統夫人の
周美青女士が、会場にいらっしゃいました！
総統夫人はとってもお話のしやすい、きさくな方で、絵をご紹介しながら
一緒に会場をまわりました。
６名のSPに囲まれながら・・はちょっと緊張しましたが・・。

An extraordinary thing had happened.
Around 3:00, first lady Ms. Chow Mei-ching, wife of Mr. Ma Ying-jeou, Taiwan’s President, visited the site of exhibition!
She was very friendly and easy to speak.  I accompanied her to see paintings and explained those paintings.
I was a little nervous because 6 bodyguards were surrounding us.


周美青女士は、とても真剣に絵とキャプションに書いてある文章を
見ておられました。
途中、いろいろご質問され、私も真剣にお伝えしました。

 Ms. Chow saw paintings and captions very seriously.
She asked various questions and I answered to them seriously.

最後に、周美青女士のほうから、「一緒に写真を撮りましょう」
と言って下さったので、みんなで記念撮影しました。

At last, Ms. Chow proposed us to take a commemorative photo together.

すべての絵を見終わったあと、私は周美青女士に、
「日本は震災後、仮設住宅などで、助かったペットも一緒に住むことが
できるのですか？」と聞かれました。
私は、そうではない現状をお話しました。
そして、
「台湾では、この先何か大変なことが起きたときなど、
人間だけではなく、動物たちのことも考えてあげてください。 
どうか、この絵の動物たちの死を無駄にしないように、お願いします。
動物も人間と同じ家族だということをみなさんに伝えてください。」
とお伝えしました。周美青女士は、
「私も家族に１４年暮らしている、犬がいるから
気持ちはとてもわかります。しっかり胸に刻ませていただきました。
絵の力は、本当にすばらしいですね。」
そう、おっしゃってくださいました。
大切なこと、お伝えできて本当によかったです。

When she finished seeing all paintings, she asked me “Can saved pets live with their owners in temporary housing after the earthquake in Japan?”.
I explained the current situation that they are not able to live together.
And I told her, “Please think about animals as well as human beings when a disaster may occur in Taiwan.  Please aware that these dead in paintings shall not have dies in vain.  I hope you will deliver the message that animals are also a member of family.”
Ms. Chow told me, “I understand it very much as I have a dog who is living with my family for 14 years.  I have engraved in my heart the message of paintings.  The power of paintings is so wonderful.”
I was very happy to tell her the important thing.


その後、展覧会場の近くにある児童書コーナーへ行きました。
周美青女士は、絵本などとてもお好きなようで、
読み聞かせなどもよくされているそうです。
台湾で出版している、私の絵本をプレゼントしました。

After that, we went to the children’s books corner near the exhibition site.
I heard that Ms. Chow likes picture books and often has a story hour.
I gave her my picture book publishing in Taiwan.

この日は、他にもうれしい方々が来場されました。
石巻の会場でお手伝いしてくださった、喜多さん。
喜多さんは東京の会場にも観に来てくださいました。
この後の、６月２日、多賀城のときもお手伝いにきてくださいます。
いつも、ありがとうございます。

Also, I had wonderful visitors other than Ms. Chow.
The first visitor was Kita-san who helped me in the exhibition in Ishinomaki.  She also visited the exhibition in Tokyo.  She will help me again for the exhibition in Tagajo on June 2.  Thank you very much, Kita-san.

そして、この方は名古屋の会場でお手伝いしてくださった、伊東さん。
名古屋では、本当にお世話になりました。
はるばる、台湾まで来てくださり、どうもありがとうございました。

The other was Ito-san who helped me in the exhibition in Nagoya.
Thank you very much, Ito-san, when I was in Nagoya and travelling a long way to Taiwan.

本当に、思いはつながることを、実感しています。
これから先も、もっともっとつなげていきたいと思います。

I realize that thoughts link each other.
I hope I will link them more and more in the future.
