September 24:  Take-out / Delivery / Departure

---------------------------------------

On 24th, it was a fine day.

Participating artists, Ms. Saeko Hirokawa, Ms. Keiko Hamada, Ms. Mako Taruishi, Ms. Kaya Doi who also came to Miyako and Mr. Zhou from Taiwan left by Rapid-Train Train Rias at 9:31.
We went to the station to see them off.

They were gone.
I felt sad because there was very quiet around me.

Then I went to the site.
Take-out started at 10:00.

The boxes had been traveled to many places in Japan and even to Taiwan since August
I really thank to those boxes, too.

Take-out finished!
Staffs in Miyako and volunteers came to Miyako, thank you very much.

We loaded boxes for paintings.
Thank you, Kita-san until 29th.

Ms. Kaori Takata, participating artist, left.
Takata-san, thank you so much.

There were some pet owners who could not come to pick their pets in paintings.
I wanted to deliver those pets in paintings to their home where they were living.
So, I will contact pet owners to deliver them as possible as I can.

After take-out, I went to see a pet owner in Otsuchi.
As Ms. Namako Takagi drew the painting, she joined to see them.

Photo on the way to Otsuchi.
It looks still terrible.

We met the pet owner at MAST.
MAST was the site to hold the exhibition Part 1 & 2.
It brought back memories.

We met the pet owner and Takagi-san passed the pet in painting.
One more pet went home.

Then, Takagi-san went home.
Takagi-san, thank you very much!

After seeing off Takagi-san, I visited some more pet owners for delivery.

Toyomane Elementary School in Yamada Town.
It was an evacuation center for the disaster.

The painting “Human and animals are having equally precious lives” was drawn by Taiwanese artist.
As the artist wanted to donate the painting to disaster school, I visited there for delivery.

Assistant principal in Toyomane Elementary School

I donated some picture books delivered from participating artists.

Here was suffered from the disaster, the school rented a part of Youth House.

Book cabinet.
It was made from cardboard.

It was a classroom where bunk beds were lined.
It was a sickbay.

It was a principal’s office.

I visited a faculty room and told teachers the exhibition.

I delivered the painting.
The person on the left was a school janitor and on the right was a principal.
The school janitor saved all students and evacuated people during the disaster.
Many people were evacuated in Funakoshi Elementary School as it was designated as an evacuation center.
Nobody imagined the tsunami reached here.  However, he believed that the tsunami will surely hit the school by judging from the situation of the ocean and said to the principal, “Let’s evacuate to higher location, don’t care others will laugh derisively”.
The principal decided to evacuate by his suggestion.
After that, the school was hit by the tsunami and all people who evacuated to the higher place were saved.

The school janitor on the left and the principal on the right.
Although the principal told me that the school janitor saved several hundred people, I thought the principal did the same because he believed the suggestion of the school janitor and decided to evaluate.

I also donated picture books.

Next, I went to see the owner of Max.
We had a dinner together and they told me many stories.

Max could survive from tsunami, but he passed away due to the life as evacuee to move home many times.
The pet owner came to pick Max in painting up with photos of cat and dog who were living together now.
Max in the big photo.
After Max passed away, the owner dug the ground around the house to find some remaining goods and found its big photo.

I returned to the hotel at 22:00 after that.
I will leave Miyako and visit Ofunato next.
The pets in paintings in the car were excited.
