An event by Ms. Keiko Hamada, Ms. Teruko Hira, and Ms. Kaori Takata was held on May 19 at Chipmunk’s Book Store.

Also, Ms. Yoshie Kawaura travelled to Taiwan today.
I picked her up at Taipe Songshan airport.
I brought her the exhibition site in Eslite Book Store and we joined the event after that.

There was a Japanese picture books corner.

The event started at 15:00.
At the start, it was a story time by Ms. Keiko Hamada.
She read “What is a peace?” and “My uncute younger sister” drawn by Hamada-san.

An interpreter translated Hamada-san’s words into Taiwanese.

Children were seriously listening.

Next were singing and dancing.
Mr. Teruko Hira brought Okinawa Sanshin.
She played Sanshin and sang.
She played one Taiwanese children’s song, “Parent and Child of Horses”, “Raccoon in Shojoji” and “Chon-chon Kijimuna” and we all sang them.

Dancing was main performance for “Chon-chon Kijimuna” and Ms. Kaori Takata took a role for dancing.

We all danced, too.
The phrase “Chon, chon, chon…” was lingering in our ears.

After the enjoyable song and dance, it was a time to draw.
The title of drawing was “Walking in the sky by animals”.
It expresses that animals who passed away are happily walking in the sky.
There were designs of animals and children put them on a paper and traced those designs by crayon, pastel, and color pencil.
There were various designs such as rabbits, dogs, cats, caws, and birds.
