ベトナム・ホーチミンに行ってきました。初日です。

I visited Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.  I am reporting about the first day.

4月9日～14日まで、ベトナム・ホーチミンに行ってきました。
ネット環境がよくなかったため、ブログの更新ができませんでした。
帰国後になりますが、ベトナムの事書きます。

I visited Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam from April 9 to 14.

As I did not have good internet access, I could not update my blog. 

I have already returned to Japan now and I am reporting my visit

to Vietnam.

命展複製画約20枚の展示が、現在行われています。
会場は、ベトナムホーチミン市「戦争証跡博物館」２Ｆ“White Dove ”
という子どもたちが遊んだり学んだりする部屋です。
会期は、今年1月～12月25日まで長期間展示していただけます。

An exhibition for 20 reproduction printings was held.

It was held at “White Dove” on 2F of War Remnants Museum in 
Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.  “White Dove” was a room for 
children to play and study.

The term is thankfully long; January to December 25, 2015.

今回ベトナムで展示させていただけることになったきっかけは、
昨年9月、韓国で開催された国際平和博物館会議に参加した
ことでした。

When I attended the International Network of Museums for 
Peace held in Korea last September, I had an opportunity to 
hold an exhibition in Vietnam now.

この平和会議で、命展の絵20枚を展示そして論文の発表をしました。
その時、戦争証跡博物館の館長、Ｍｓ.Huynh Ngoc Vanに出会い、
命展の活動に賛同してくださり、ベトナムでの展示が実現したのです。
Ngoc Vanさんも、猫ちゃんを家族に迎えていらっしゃいます。

I displayed 20 paintings from the exhibition and read a paper at the 
conference.

And I met Ms. Huynh Ngoc Van who was a curator of War Remnants 
Museum.

She deeply agreed to our activity of the exhibition and the exhibition 
in Vietnam came true.

She also have a cat as her family member.

ベトナム航空で成田空港を出発しました。

I left Narita Airport by Vietnam Airlines.

ホーチミンまで直行で約6時間半・・・時差は2時間です。

もうすぐホーチミンに到着です。

It took 6.5 hours to Ho Chi Minh and there was 2-hour time difference.

I will arrive at Ho Chi Minh soon.

タンソンニャット国際空港に到着。
ここで、関空から来てくださった、ＮＨＫ京都放送局のキャスター、
小野田真由美さんと合流しました。

I arrived at Tansonnhat International Airport.

At the airport, I joined Ms. Mayumi Onoda, newscaster of NHK Kyoto.  
She flew from Kansai Airport.

ここからタクシーに乗り、ホーチミン市内に向かいます。
タクシーは信頼できる会社を選ばないと、高額請求される恐れが
あるので、緊張しました。
ちゃんとメーターを回しているか確認し出発しました。

We took a taxi and moved to the city center of Ho Chi Minh City.

We got tense because we had to choose a reliable taxi to avoid rip-off.

We confirmed whether the taximeter was working.

ホーチミン市内の様子です。
バイクの数が・・ものすごいです。この数でバイクを飛ばします。
交通ルールはあってないようなもの。歩道もバイクが走ります。

There were a lot of motor cycles.  They drove fast.

Traffic rules were virtually non-existent.

信号があまりありません。横断するのが一苦労でした。

There were few signals.  It was very hard to get across the road. 

ベトナムは長い間、フランスに占領された過酷な時代を過ごしました。
そのころの建物がまだたくさん残っており、近代的な建物と混在して
います。

Vietnam occupied by France and had faced a harsh times for a long time.

Many buildings built during an occupation were left and mixed with modern
buildings.

夜になり、あと2名と合流しました。
命展参加作家のひろかわさえこさん、ひろかわさんの娘さんです。
夜の街を4人で散策しました。

In the evening, 2 more persons joined us.

Ms. Saeko Hirokawa, participating artist, and her daughter.

4 of us took a walk in the city at night.

夜市に立ち寄り、4人で乾杯しました。
ひろかわさん、娘さん、小野田さんです。
（小野田さんは後ろ姿のみ。お仕事の関係で顔は出せないそうです）
ベトナム料理は、とても美味しいです！

We visited a night market and had a toast.

Hirokawa-san, her daughter, and Onoda-san.

(As Onoda-san could not show her face due to her job, it was a back
shot only.)

Vietnamese food was very delicious!

みなさんとご一緒できて、本当に嬉しかったです。

I was very glad to meet them.
