１２月８日、京都同志社大学でお話してきました

December 8:  I visited Doshisha University in Kyoto

１２月８日（日）、またまた京都に行って来ました。
今度は、学生さんたちの勉強会に呼んでいただきました。
今回の学生さんは、同志社大、立命館大、京大・・などの学生さんで、
普段から動物愛護の活動をされている方々です。
会場は「同志社大学新町キャンパスの学生会館」です。

On Sunday, December 8, I visited Kyoto again.
I was invited to a workshop of students.
Students were from Doshisha Univ., Ritsumeikan Univ. and Kyoto Univ., etc., and they were working on animal protection regularly.
The site was Student Union Building in Shinmachi Campus of Doshisha University.

「諸君ヨ、人一人ハ大切ナリ」新島襄の言葉が書いてありました。

There were words of Mr. Joe Neesima, a founder, “Each and every student must be valued.”

勉強会の教室には命展の複製画７枚を展示しました。

I displayed 7 reproduction paintings in the room where workshop was held.

私と弁護士の細川 敦史先生でお話をしました。

I discussed with Mr. Atsushi Hosokawa, attorney.

１３：３０から第１部として私から、命展を通して、命の大切さや平等、
伝え続けることの大切さなど、お話をさせていただきました。
１時間お話したあと、同行避難をテーマに、
みんなでディスカッションしていただきました。

The first session started at 13:30.  I gave a speech about the importance of lives, equality of lives, and keeping informed through the exhibition.
After having a speech in one hour, everybody had a discussion about the evacuation with pets.

１５：００からは第２部、細川先生のお話が始まりました。
細川先生は、新動物愛護法の改正のお話しや、法律という視点から
動物問題に何が出来るかをお話されました。
私も知らなかったこともあり、とても勉強になりました。

The second session started at 15:00.  Mr. Hosokawa gave a speech about the amendment of New Animal Law and what we can do for animals from a viewpoint of law.
There were things that I didn’t know and I learned a lot.

It was finished at 16:40.
We all took a commemorative photo.

その後、親睦会に行きました。
ここでも、いろんな話をしました。

After that, I joined a social gathering.
We had many things to talk.

みんな・・まだ２０代の若者たち・・驚くくらい真剣に日本の未来を
考えていました。
私は少し、安心しました。

いろんな年代、いろんな立場の人がいますが、同じ目標に向かい、
その中でそれぞれが出来ることをしていけば、いつか必ずよい方向に
変わっていくと、私はあらためて思いました。

They were still 20’s young guys and they were amazingly serious to think about the future of Japan.
I was relieved to know it.

There were many generations and positions.  However, if they aim to the same goal and do what they can do, the world will surely change in a positive way.  I really felt it.
