I returned to Japan.

Today, I returned to Japan.

At 9AM, I visited Hayashi-san’s office and picked up boxes of packed paintings.  He took me to Taoyuan Airport.

Good-bye, Taipei.
Vivian, Usa, Michel and Hayashi-san (from left to right)
Thank you very much!

A sign found in the airport.
“ROLEX” was expressed as “Rou Riki Shi” in Chinese character.  It means “working sumo wrestler” in Japanese.

I departed Taipei at 12:50 and arrived in Narita Airport at 16:50.
Ms. Yoshie Kawaura came to the airport to help me as I had 4 boxes of paintings.
She traveled for 3 hours by highway express bus.
I was so sorry for travelling all the way to the airport.
I was very much happy to see her at the arrival gate.

We put boxes on 2 luggage carts and carried them to the counter of parcel delivery service.

Paintings will be sent to Tagajo City, Miyagi Prefecture.

We will hold the additional exhibition at Tagajo City Cultural Center on June 2.
I will travel to Sendai on June 1.
I will work on it on a new note.

Kawaura-san, thank you for today.
I really appreciate your assistance.

May 29:  I will return to Japan tomorrow, 30th.

It was a very hot day.
It was a blazing hot day and the temperature was about 35 degrees.

In the afternoon, I packed paintings displayed at the exhibition in the office of Chipmunk’s Book Store.
I will bring back the packed paintings tomorrow.

As I had a bit of free time before visiting Chipmunk’s Book Store, I took a walk.
Trees were tropical plants.

It’s like Taiwan’s Aoyama.

On the way, I found a shop which had a pretty clock.
It was a gelato shop.

As it was a hot day, I tried the walnut gelato.
It tasted as good as Italian gelato.

I visited Chipmunk’s Book Store and packed paintings in the office.
…… I forgot to take photos of packing because I was concentrating to pack ……
Three female staffs in Chipmunk’s Book Store helped me.
Thank you very much for your kind support.

After that, I visited the book store to say good-bye.
All of them were persons with great smile.

After I took commemorative shot with each staff, Riko-san, one of the staff in Chipmunk’s Book Store, played a ukulele and sang a song.
She drew a tree of hope in the exhibition space.
She wanted to become a picture book artist.
She showed me her paintings and I found that she drew heartwarming paintings.
I loved them.

And I got a gift from her.
It was “The Little Prince” made by Riko-san.  The prince held the hand with a rabbit.
She cut out a piece of paper.
I was very happy to get such heartfelt gift.
Riko-san, thank you very much!

I said zai jian (good-bye) to staffs in Chipmunk’s Book Store and went to dinner with Hayashi-san (he treated again…)

It was a vegetarian (called sushi in Taiwan) restaurant.
As it was very beautiful and delicious, I posted photos.
The first dish.
We should eat a small tomato in the nearest china spoon and then eat them in a counterclockwise direction.

It was like a hamburger made from something like Chinese mushroom.

Vinegar on the ice.

We had a soup containing Chinese herbs after that, but I forgot to take a photo.

Desserts.
Green tea mousse (left).  It was not too sweet and delicious.
Fruits in Taiwan were very delicious.
Everything tasted sweet and good.
I heard more delicious fruits will be delivered soon.
I would visit here again during the season of many fruits.

I was full and I returned to the hotel.

Hayashi-san, thank you so much for everything.
He treated me to excellent meals.

I will never forget his kindness.
And I want to value this friendship forever.

May 28:  Carry-out

We carried out paintings yesterday, 28th. It started from 10AM.

As we drove nails directly to the wall, we filled holes in the wall with putty and put on a paint.

They were thoroughly packing paintings into the box.

I will bring back captions to Japan.

The big panel was removed.

We completed to carry out paintings.
We will work on packing to send back paintings to Japan tomorrow.
As I feel each time, it seems to me like a dream when I see the empty space.
Thank you very much for all.

We had a party after the completion of exhibition at 18:30.
It was a private party.
Staffs who helped me to hold the exhibition to the last attended the party.

First of all, I conveyed my thankfulness to all of them.

Cheers!

Teachers of story time in Chipmunk’s Book Store.  They are also painters.

Staffs in Chipmunk’s Book Store.
They worked on the reception at the exhibition as well as their normal job in book store.

They were all warm-hearted people.
Thoughts were conveyed because we had same thoughts even if we could not understand languages each other.
They also felt the same way.

A word “Ichigoichie (enjoy every encounter because it may not come to you again)” was frequently came up with my mind throughout the exhibition in Japan and Taiwan.
I will never see them again under the same situation.
Time, encounter, and sound, smell, light in the space…
I will always treasure all of them.
And, I will treasure my way of life.
Thank you for all.
Thank you so much for all staffs in Taiwan.

 Monday, May 28, 2012
May 27:  Closing of the Exhibition in Taiwan

Today was the last day in Taiwan.

As it was the last day, visitors were continuously coming since morning.

There were many people who visited us repeatedly because they wanted to see paintings one more time before closing.

The father and children participated in the discussion meeting and visited the exhibition for 4 times.  They gave me a letter in the handcrafted bottle.  I got one more treasure.

Growing the tree of hope…

More visitors in the evening.

It was around 21:00.  Although it came near the time at which the exhibition closed, the site was crowded like that.

There were many animal-shaped papers on the tree of hope.

And all thoughts covered the tree.

The picture was drawn on the last page of the guestbook.
I remember a girl who was the 1st or 2nd grade of elementary school drew it.
The words “Jiayou xiao dongwu” was written by a rabbit.
It means “good luck, animals”

The last visitor left the site around 21:15.
We closed the door and then 10-day exhibition in Taiwan closed.
There were 760 visitors today.
We had 4000 visitors for 10 days to see the exhibition.

At last, I took photos of the site without visitors with sincere gratitude to the site where supported our paintings…
and with sincere gratitude and pray to animals who came out from paintings and ran around the space.
Many, many thanks.
